The clutch allows you to smoothly attach a rotating motor to a transmission that is not rotating or is in a different rotation.
The repair kit comes with disc, plateau and bearing. How It Works:
The clutch works due to the friction between the clutch plate, through its pressure plate, and the flywheel of the engine. When your foot is off the pedal, the springs push the pressure plate against the clutch plate, which in turn is pressed against the steering wheel. This connects the engine to the input shaft (pilot tree) of the gearbox, causing them to rotate at the same speed.
